Design Notes

The pGAL1 promoter is used to drive the expression of the genes BAX and BI-I in the construction of the kill switch part for the project. The BAX is the gene encoding for the toxin while BI-I is the gene encoding for the anti-toxin. The idea was to express the BI-I under the control of inducible promoter, however, to optimise the expression of BAX and BI-I we made numerous constructs to establish the optimal balance between the expression of the both the toxin and the antitoxin.
